P92 Sets up Ruby on Rails Division in Szeged, Hungary

P92 has set up a new division in Szeged to provide service in the fast growing technology Ruby on Rails. Szeged is Hungary’s fourth largest city with a strong research university which has a high European profile and there is locally a sting pool of Computer Scientists. Tens of thousands of ‘Rails' applications are already live. People are using Rails in the tiniest part-time operations to the biggest companies. Rails was created in 2003 by David Heinemeier Hansson and has since been extended by the Rails core team and more than 3,700 contributors. Companies such as Shopify, Github, Twitter and Basecamp are using this technology.

Tim O’Reilly a key industry pundit said of rails: “Ruby on Rails is a breakthrough in lowering the barriers of entry to programming. Powerful web applications that formerly might have taken weeks or months to develop can be produced in a matter of days.”

Gusztav Turschl, Managing Director, P92 IT Solutions said “We want to be a provider of key technologies on a Near-Shore basis, and Ruby on Rails if becoming key for some major high growth companies"
